Happy 2010!

My apologies for the belated good wishes, but Happy New Year nonetheless.

Oh, 2010... The year of the winter olympics and the world cup. Let us all hope USA brings home gold in both (crosses fingers).

Of course it is also an election year (Don't we just love those). Get set for a season of slanderous smear campaigns and polarized politics. Unless Americans say "off with their heads" to partisan hacks, expect the climate to stay the same. This happens to be an instance where I'm in favor of man-made climate change :]

So in the meantime, enjoy your time with your family and friends and consider investing in some popcorn and a lounge chair so you can watch America save or kill itself in style come November.

Good luck in this year's endeavors,

A Joke from God?

Coincidence?

As if the Obama Administration didn't already have enough problems related to the Christmas Day Undie Bomber incident , the NYPD gloriously showed them up today in Times Square.

The reason?

NYPD detected red flags exhibited by a suspicious vehicle parked in Times Square, and they actually acted on said red flags.

The US State Department et al?: They detected red flags exhibited by a young, misguided, would-be mass murderer and allowed him to receive a valid US visa and board a US-bound flight.

Granted, the NYPD did not thwart a terror plot, but I'd rather have a suspcious van inspected than have it destroy half of Times Square. Unlike what the US State Department et al did, which was not taking action against a suspicious man and instead, allow him to board a plane with the intent of incinerating 300 people in the sky.

I'm serious. The decisions/strategies of the current administration appear to be taken directly from a strip of Goofus and Gallant. Unfortunately, they appear to favor the "Goofus" approach more than "Gallant" one.

Enough with all the politics, finger-pointing and distractions already. President Obama had a golden opportunity to show that America was right in electing him as a leader, and he blew it. A very confused, angry and afraid American public turned to the President for reassurance that they were safe, but instead he waits 2 days later to say so much as "Ahola."
Bush had his "Now watch this drive" moment and now Obama has had his. (You know, mixed other fun phrases such as "Be Back Later. I'm at the beach." or "Hang loose, dude.")

In hopes that the government actually does their job (or at least what they tell us is their job) during the work week, The situation is as simple as this: somebody(or people) somewhere didn't do their job and the President needs to demand who that person(or people) is/are. At the very least, someone (or people) needs to be fired and the passengers need to be compensated. At the very most, someone (or people) needs to go to jail. Enough with making this anything other than it is or attempt to shift blame. It's one thing to endanger 300 lives due to your incompetence to govern, it's another if the handling of the mishap is more imcompetent than the imcompetence that led to the mishap in the first place.

Exit Questions: One executive action that has been constantly highlighted is Obama's call for a review of our own safety procedures. Perhaps this puzzles you as much as it does me. Does this mean nobody in the TSA, Homeland Security Department, etc currently does this on a regular basis? 2. Knowing that the would-be mass murderer did not board a plane in an AMERICAN airport, does his focus on AMERICAN airport procedures offer a masked admission that he is either out of touch on this issue and/or simply does not know what to do?

God bless America,

Time: The Crutch Is Gone

It's Official.

The "we're secure so don't worry" crutch of the Bush Administration has been completely obliterated under the current administration.

As Time Magazine reported:
If 2009 alerted Americans to the domestic terror threat, it's a safe bet that there will be more reminders of the danger in 2010.
Advice?

Calm the public, silence the critics, improve our international image all by CRACKING DOWN ON THIS NOW!

We do not deserve to live in fear. Our leadership is obliged to ensure our security. Otherwise, it's about time we replace the crumbling brick in our national security wall.

Happy Sunday!

Obama's 9/11 Moment?

So much for the "Post 9/11 Mentality."

A Christmas Miracle indeed.

For the Fort Hood apologists out there, make no mistake: there is no such thing as an "attempted" act of terror. This young, misguided individual has sewn terror into the hearts of Americans even though it would appear obvious that his plans went awry. Before I continue, I would like to applaud the heroism exhibited by the passengers who helped take this guy down. It is people like you that make America great.

As for the President, It would be very unwise of him to simply brush this off. As if his inclination to apologize for America's exceptionalism and his epic failure to maintain protocol didn't make us appear weak and amateurish already...This is a crushing blow to the international perspective of our homeland security. We have demonstrated to the world that we are vulnerable. If you want to save our international image, calm the distressed public, and silence the critics, then CRACK DOWN ON THIS NOW! Make it explicitly clear to everyone living in America and elsewhere in the world that America will never allow such a potential threat to penetrate our security EVER again.

Analysis?

Why is it that the President has a odd way of being "away" when events of this kind of magnitude play out? Can't help but to be reminded of this.

Also, why am I starting to see a pattern of the government knowing information ahead of time and not acting on it? Here and here.

The US government is dangerously becoming closer and closer to becoming synonymous with "Incompetent." If it does not nip this in the bud immediately, expect there to be a backlash brought on by the public. The feds should feel darn lucky that nobody died and should respect that reality. One of the main accomplishments of the Bush Administration was securing America from another act of terrorism on our soil after 9/11. President Barack Obama, though he loathes to acknowledge this accomplishment, surely took it for granted anyway. That is, until the Fort Hood slayings and now this Christmas Day debacle. The Bush Administration used its success in national security as a crutch in the face of a domestic fiscal crisis, and so has President Obama. With this crutch gone, what does this President have to show for himself? A Nobel Peace Prize?
Fantastic.

Exit Question: Bush was reading "My Pet Goat" when he first heard word of the attacks on 9/11. Any guesses on what President Obama was skimming through on Christmas? I believe a few passengers are entitled to a late Christmas gift from the White House for saving the President from having this be the face of his irreversibly atrocious public approval rating.

I've heard word that the President is not going to cut his "vacation" short. So in that case, Mr. President, take care and hang loose.
Aloha.

Merry Christmas!

How appropriate it is to debut into the blogosphere on the most joyous day of the year. If you are wondering, no, unfortunately, I did not catch Santa Claus in the act this year (again). Better luck next year I suppose. For having such an unhealthy diet and being borderline obese, that guy sure can maneuver in and out swiftly. Anyhow, I just thought I'd share my prayer with you that the reason for the season may be abundantly clear and may it remain that way all throughout the upcoming year.

~A special thanks goes out to our brave men and women of the armed forces serving abroad. If I could stuff my appreciation for you in a box and put a bow on it, I'd send you all your own. Albeit it would most likely be after Christmas when you receive it, but wouldn't it be great if we had more days feel like Christmas? I thought so.

Have a very Merry Christmas and may your hearts be filled with joy and peace,
